While the vast majority of Americans are “proud” of how increasingly religiously diverse their nation is becoming, a recent study reports that white Evangelical and Hispanic Protestants are less likely to embrace religious diversity. The joint study from Public Religion Research
Institute (PRRI) and Interfaith America primarily utilizes data compiled by PRRI as part of its 2021 American Values Atlas and its 2021 American Values Survey.
In the American Values Survey of over 2,508 respondents from across the 50 states, 70% say they are proud to be part of a nation that is becoming more religiously diverse. The respondents were surveyed between Sept. 16 and Sept. 29, 2021.
Two-thirds of black Protestants (66%) and about three-quarters of white Catholics (73%), Hispanic Catholics (74%) and white mainline (non-Evangelical) Protestants (77%) said the same.
White evangelical Protestants (53%) and Hispanic Protestants (41%) were less likely than other religious groups to agree that they are proud to be part of a nation that is becoming more religiously diverse.
Religiously unaffiliated Americans (78%) and non-Christian religious Americans (86%) overwhelmingly agreed with that statement.
“We are the world’s first attempt at religiously diverse democracy, and we are the most religiously diverse nation in human history,” said Eboo Patel, founder and president of Interfaith America. “It is time to write the chapter after Judeo-Christian in the great story of American diversity.
The goal of Interfaith America, the organization, is to help build Interfaith America the nation.”
Citing an August 2021 PRRI survey of over 5,415 respondents, the study states that around two-thirds of Americans also reject the idea that
“God intended America to be a new promised land where European Christians could create a society that could be an example to the rest of the world.”
Less than a third of all Americans — 31% — agreed with the statement, with white Evangelical Protestants forming the only religious majority (52%) in agreement with that statement.
The percentage of Americans who identify as “white Christians” dropped from 59% in 2004 to 44% last year, according to a comparison of data from Pew Research Center surveys, PRRI surveys and the PRRI American Values Atlas.
The steepest declines occurred during the Obama administration from 2008 to 2016.
About 53% in 2010 identified as white Christians compared to 43% in 2016, before the trend flattened out in the post-Obama era.
The number of American Christians of color, meanwhile, jumped from nearly 15% in 1990 to 25% in 2021, the study indicates, citing the 1990
General Social Survey and the 2021 American Values Atlas based on approximately 50,000 bilingual telephone interviews conducted across the calendar year.
PRRI also found that while there were more than nine times as many white Christians as religiously unaffiliated Americans in 1990, that ratio has since shrunk to less than two to one.
Americans appeared to be at least aware of the trends.
Majorities of several religious groups interviewed for the PRRI American Values Survey agree with the statement, “America is in danger of losing its culture and identity.” This includes 78% of white Evangelical Protestants, 64% of white Catholics, 59% of white mainline (non-Evangelical) Protestants and 52% of black Protestants.
Less than half of Hispanic Catholics (43%), non-Christian religious Americans (37%) and religiously unaffiliated Americans (35%) agreed with that statement.
“In recent decades, we have seen tectonic shifts in the religious diversity of our nation as well as a marked increase in Americans’ willingness and desire to work across religious lines,” PRRI Founder and CEO Robert P. Jones said in a statement.
“Such times of cultural change often fuel fear but also generate opportunity. We applaud Interfaith America’s mission of building bridges between people of different faiths, providing much needed critical infrastructure to foster collaboration and understanding.”
The report’s findings were announced as part of a rebranding announcement from Interfaith America, previously known as Interfaith Youth Core.
Interfaith America describes itself as “guided by a vision of an America that embraces religious diversity as a foundational strength” and works toward “making that inclusive vision a reality for all.”
Founded in 2002, Interfaith America is supported by several donors, including Mackenzie Scott, former wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Scott had given $6 million to Interfaith America, according to the group.
CP reached out to Patel for further comment on the study but didn't immediately receive a reply.

May 9, 2022 by Andy Roman
The Jesuit Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, S.J. is the President of the Commission of Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE). This is the Vatican-led agency that represents Pope Francis in the European Union. On May 9, 2022, Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, S.J. announced that the “Catholic Church in Europe will continue to be a faithful and honest companion” on the road to “European unification.” [1] Cardinal Hollerich called for the unification of all of Europe in his letter. Working to unite Europe is “nothing to be feared,” he said, but “should be embraced with courage and determination.” He went on to say that in order for this process to succeed, changes must be made based on “shared values,” and that Rome is willing to play a key role in bringing about those changes. What are these anticipated changes?
Notice what the top Jesuit leader outlined:
“As Church we are ready to play an even more active role in it. Most of the proposals and ideas of the Conference concern the environment and climate change, the digital transformation, a strong social market economy and the role of the EU in the world. Now that the Conference has handed the baton to the institutions of the European Union, expectations are high that they will be able to deliver on these ideas and proposals. Europeans wish a respectful, responsible, social and sustainable economy.
Is the Church prepared to participate actively in policies relating to the environment, climate change, digital transformation, a strong social market, and a sustainable economy? Are these the common values of the new global order? The writing is on the wall. The Jesuits are indicating that they are prepared to take command and lead us in international policies that would fundamentally alter our world forever.
They are ready to impose their will on government leaders in regards to climate policies (Laudato Si’) and the economy (Fratelli Tutti). Fratelli Tutti, as you may recall, advocates for the creation of a global economy that abolishes private property and enforces the “universal destination of the earth’s goods.”
“I would observe that ‘the Christian tradition has never recognized the right to private property as absolute or inviolable, and has stressed the social purpose of all forms of private property’ …The right to private property can only be considered a secondary natural right, derived from the principle of the universal destination of created goods” (Fratelli Tutti #120).
“The right to private property is always accompanied by the primary and prior principle of the subordination of all private property to the universal destination of the earth’s goods, and thus the right of all to their use.” (Fratelli Tutti #123).
“On Sunday, our participation in the Eucharist has special importance. Sunday, like the Jewish Sabbath, is meant to be a day which heals our relationships with God, with ourselves, with others and with the world. Sunday is the day of the Resurrection, the ‘first day’ of the new creation, whose first fruits are the Lord’s risen humanity, the pledge of the final transfiguration of all created reality. It also proclaims ‘man’s eternal rest in God’ … And so the day of rest, centered on the Eucharist, sheds it light on the whole week, and motivates us to greater concern for nature.” (Laudato Si’ #237).
Rome is prepared to use its political clout to promote policies that promote Sunday in their new economy, which will usher in tyranny. They are bringing about their changes in a very subtle and hidden manner. The ultimate aim is to increase papal power and influence around the world. Who cares what happens to the people, their private property or individual rights, as long as Rome triumphs and becomes dominant. As long as Catholic operatives and diplomats control world politics, there will never be peace, harmony, unity, or progress in any country.
The Jesuit Cardinal Hollerich closes his letter with the following frightening statement:
“The Catholic Church, its successive Popes since Pius XII, the European Bishops, religious orders, and many Christian movements of laity have never stopped to wholeheartedly embrace the process of European unification and its underlying values. Expressing sometimes reservations on isolated policy matters issues cannot change this. On this 9th of May we wish to encourage the political leadership in the institutions and Member States of the European Union to take up the new challenges and opportunities ahead.”
We are witnessing one of the major fulfillments of Bible prophecy in recent times as the beast of Revelation 13 seeks to unite Europe around its common shared values. The aim for unity appears to be on track. It may succeed for a short while, but it is certain to fail in the end. This disunity will occur not as a result of our own knowledge or reasoning, but as a result of our faith in Bible prophecy. “And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.” Daniel 2:41-44.
For centuries, emperors, generals, dictators, popes, politicians, and globalists have all tried in some way to unite Europe into one great superpower. All of these efforts, however, have failed. “They shall not cleave one to another,” God’s word says, so Europe cannot and will not be united. Those who have attempted to unite Europe have never been able to comprehend why their efforts have failed. Charlemagne, Louis XIV, Napoleon, Wilhelm II (Kaiser Bill), Hitler, Jean Monnet, or Jesuits like Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, S.J., have all tried and failed to unite Europe. It may appear to come together for a brief moment, but iron cannot be mixed with clay, so it will eventually fall apart.
Is it disheartening to know that man’s plans will ultimately fail? Certainly not. This gives us reason to be hopeful. Our hope is in God’s promises, not in men, because God’s word continues to tell us that Christ will return in the days of a divided Europe:
“And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.” Daniel 2:44.
Europe and the entire world will be united one day, but only when Christ returns. God will establish a kingdom that will last forever on the ashes of the old earth, and there will be no more wickedness, tyranny, oppression, war, violence, hate, or sin. Praise God!

Christian Post
For many years, I have stated that a major reason America is so messed up is that much of the American Church is also messed up. And a major reason that so much of the American Church is messed up is that so many Christian leaders are also messed up. The domino effect is quite real.
Church leaders greatly influence their followers, for better or for worse. And since Christian believers are called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world, if we are not fulfilling our moral and spiritual duties, this will have a deleterious effect on the nation.
And how, exactly, do Church leaders influence their followers? They do it by their message and by their example. If they are preaching rightly and living rightly, they will produce healthy congregants. If their preaching is unbiblical and their lifestyle is compromised, they will produce unhealthy congregants.
To be sure, America is not as influenced by the pulpit as it was in 1873, when Charles Finney preached that,
“If the public press lacks moral discrimination… If the church is degenerate and worldly… If the world loses its interest in religion… If Satan rules in our halls of legislation… If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government are ready to fall away, the pulpit is responsible for it.”
Yet with 70% of Americans still professing Christianity and with evangelical Christians alone making up roughly 25% of the population, the Christian leaders of the nation remain influential, for better or worse.
In that light, a recent Barna survey gives lots of cause for concern, especially when it comes to the message being preached by Christian leaders.
As reported by Decision magazine, “A new study from the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University (ACU), guided by popular pollster George Barna, has found that just 37% of Christian pastors in the United States have a Biblical worldview.”
Seriously? Just 37%?
It would be bad enough if less than 4 in 10 believers held to a biblical worldview. But less than 4 in 10 pastors? How can this be?
A Message from Masterworks
In the words of Barna, “This is another strong piece of evidence that the culture is influencing the American church more than Christian churches are influencing the culture.”
Or, viewed from another angle, rather than Christian leaders equipping their people to swim against the tide of the culture, they too are being carried by the current of the age. And that, in turn, means that the light is not shining and the salt is not being salty.
It is a vicious cycle of moral and spiritual deterioration.
In short, when the doctors are spreading disease rather than curing disease, the populace is in big trouble.
Decision reports that, “The survey looked at eight different categories of belief and behavior, including family and the value of life; God, creation and history; personal faith practices; and sin, salvation and one’s relationship with God.”
Predictably, the heart of the problem can be traced back to beliefs about the Bible: “The survey found that the category with the lowest percentage of pastors holding a Biblical worldview is the one related to beliefs and behaviors about the Bible, truth, and morality.”
No surprise here!
And what do we make of the finding that just 4% of executive pastors (this is not a typo) hold to a biblical worldview? Just 4%? And how much influence do executive pastors have in the staffing of churches and in many of the practical decisions the church makes?
As for the larger population (not just professing Christians), the survey found that “just 2% of the parents of preteens” held to a biblical worldview, along with “men (2%), women (4%), whites (4%), blacks (2%), Hispanics (less than one-half of 1%), and less than one-half of 1% among those who identify as LGBTQ.”
But this, too, should not surprise us, seeing that, in 2009, Barna reported that, “Even among born again adults, the statistics [concerning Americans with a biblical worldview] have remained flat: 18% in 1995, 22% in 2000, 21% in 2005, and 19% today.”
As I wrote in 2017,
“We have believed that we should blend in and not rock the boat, showing the non-believers around us that we’re no different than they are. But while it’s important to be contributing members of the society, and while we’re called to be peacemakers not troublemakers, we are also called to swim against the tide and go against the grain. We are called to show the world a better way
“Sadly, many Christian leaders have put more emphasis on discovering what’s trending in society than learning what’s on God’s heart. In their quest to become relevant, they have become irrelevant.”
To be sure, there are many healthy leaders and healthy congregations in America. And there are always questions about the precise accuracy of polls and the nature of the questions that are asked.
But without a doubt, when we see so much moral and spiritual confusion in the larger society, it reflects the moral and spiritual confusion found in many churches. And that, in turn, reflects the confused and compromised message emanating from “Christian” leaders around America.
May God bring a true revival to His people, starting with Christian leaders across the land. May the awakening begin with us!

CP VOICES | FRIDAY, MAY 20, 2022
The radical left continues to target vulnerable children with its twisted view of gender identity and sexual orientation. Now, the left has the full-fledged support of the country’s largest association of pediatric doctors.
“You-ology: A Puberty Guide for EVERY Body” is a book released by the American Academy of Pediatrics aiming “to talk about puberty in an inclusive way.”
Although there are chapters on the normal growing pains associated with puberty, the book raises eyebrows by including content related to kids identifying as transgender, as well as the academy’s recommendations for those kids.
“You-ology” uses short stories to highlight certain points. In Chapter 3, a group of boys in a boys’ locker room notices a biological female is there with them. They question why and are then accosted by the girl’s brother, who informs them that she is transgender. The chapter goes on to argue that sex isn’t related to what genitals a baby has, and that it’s all about how someone identifies. Worse, the book goes on to describe how there aren’t two genders, but a whole multitude.
Other nightmarish terms the book uses to confuse children include “sperm-making bodies” to refer to boys and “baby-growing bodies” to refer to girls.
“You-ology” revels in these sex nonspecific phrases, much like the omnipresent expression “birthing person,” with which the modern left is obsessed.
In one section, the book advises readers against using the term “feminine hygiene” products to refer to items such as tampons or menstrual pads, and instead to use the term “period products.”
Even then, sometimes the book’s authors get confused and forget their woke biology, claiming that “male” bodies produce sperm instead of leftists’ accepted position that men aren’t unique in doing that anymore.
Later chapters recommend that kids who are uncomfortable with their bodies should wear binders or “tuck” their genitals. The book claims in some cases, medical intervention, including puberty blockers, is necessary.
The left attempts to hide what it’s doing behind cutesy illustrations, but the reality is clear. Activist doctors who want to normalize gender ideology are foisting transgenderism on children.
The consequences of this attempt to normalize the left’s radical agenda can be fatal.
The Daily Signal reported the story of Yaeli Martinez, a 19-year-old girl who committed suicide after battling with depression, which she thought becoming transgender could solve.
It’s not hard to imagine someone like Yaeli being exposed to this type of book and thinking that the solution to all his or her problems is to take puberty blockers, bind their breasts, and transition.
That’s a dangerous lie that results in miserable kids and, in the worst case, broken families weeping over the bodies of their loved ones.
Books such as “You-ology” exacerbate the issue not only by solidifying transgender ideology into the mainstream, but by convincing kids that it is perfectly normal to change their bodies, often permanently, during a period of extreme emotional instability.
Of course, kids are going to be confused about who they are during puberty. Their bodies are being shot full of new hormones, and they’re going through something completely unprecedented in their young lives.
The solution isn’t to affirm something is wrong with the biological process. The solution is to say that puberty is tough, but boys will emerge as men and girls will emerge as women.
That is biological reality, and no amount of posturing by woke activist doctors will change that fact.
The American Academy of Pediatrics should be ashamed to be producing material that is directly responsible for ruining the lives of children.

• Kandiss Taylor, a GOP candidate for Georgia Governor, delivered an anti-abortion speech on Sunday.
• Running on a "Jesus, Guns, Babies" platform, she criticized the separation of church and state.
• "They're not gonna tell us 'separation of church and state.' We are the church! We run this state!"
At a Sunday campaign event, GOP candidate for Governor Kandiss Taylor delivered an anti-abortion speech that criticized the separation of church and state, saying "the church runs the state of Georgia."
"We're gonna do a political rally and we're gonna honor Jesus," Taylor said while standing in front of her campaign bus, which has her "Jesus, Guns, Babies" slogan boldly painted on the side. "They're not gonna tell us 'separation of church and state.' We are the church! We run this state!"
Taylor's speech criticized the "Luciferian regime" taking over the state of Georgia and accused current Gov. Brian Kemp of selling out the state to the Chinese Communist Party, but did not offer specifics how is doing so.
Taylor is challenging incumbent Kemp and Trump-backed candidate David Purdue for the Republican nomination for Governor. The primary election will be held Tuesday.
"The church runs the state of Georgia. This state is sovereign. This is our state. We decide what happens. We decide if we kill babies," Taylor added in her Sunday speech. "That's our choice. I pray Roe versus Wade gets overturned, it should be. But let's get one thing straight: The States didn't give them the right to have Roe versus Wade to begin with!"
Taylor's campaign did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

BY TONY PERKINS/FAMILY RESEARCH COUNCIL MAY 11, 2022
According to a new poll, Oregon Governor Kate Brown (D) is officially the least popular governor in America. And considering the law she just signed, it's not hard to see why.
Thanks to the Menstrual Dignity Act that just passed, local taxpayers are now on the hook for thousands of new tampon dispensers in boys' bathrooms. This latest madness, which affects every public school and college in the state, is expected to cost up to $400 a machine. And school custodians aren't the only ones upset about it.
"This will show all of our youth, and especially our trans youth, that the bathroom they're using, that affirms their gender, that it's for them," argued one Portland resident, "and it has the products there that they might need." Legislators agreed, expanding a bill that was originally intended to give female students free sanitary products at school.
Now, in an absurd gesture, the state has decided to "affirm the right to menstrual dignity for transgender, intersex, nonbinary, and two-spirit students" by trying to "minimize negative attention that could put them at risk of harm... during menstruation."
In the state's guidance, school officials are told to use gender-neutral phrases like "menstruating students" instead of "girls." When it comes to explaining the reproductive process, teachers are instructed to tell kids that "someone with a uterus and ovaries may begin to menstruate," instead of girls. There's no such thing as "female hygiene products," the toolkit argues -- only "menstrual products."
Obviously, state leaders didn't bother to consult their counterparts in Illinois, where a similar move has literally opened the floodgates to expensive plumbing issues and mischief. "When you give a grade-school boy something that's adhesive, they're going to put it in places," Illinois Republicans argued during their debate. "These products are not inexpensive, and they are going to be misused if they are placed in elementary school boys' bathrooms," state Rep. Avery Bourne (R) fumed last year.
Case in point: campuses like Loyola University, where janitors are dealing with all kinds of pranks, tampering, and vandalism. Sanitary pads "would end up on the mirrors, in the sinks, down the toilet, and completely thrown out," one students' group complained.
School administrators have also had to deal with the fallout of this lunacy in Illinois, admitting, "Operationally for our building, yes, it is creating problems..." Huntley High Assistant Principal Tom Kempf said. "The custodian has to spend an extra hour fixing something..." What's next? Urinals in the girls' restrooms? "I'm telling you, there is no logic here," state Senator Jil Tracy (R) warned before the state ignored her and passed the bill. "We've got to quit playing these stupid silly games here and get real and get fiscally responsible."
Unfortunately, "menstrual equity" is only scratching the surface of outrage in most states, where parents are fighting a much more sinister abuse of their authority. In Florida, mom January Littlejohn is actually suing her school district for helping her teenage daughter transition without her consent.
On "Fox & Friends" this morning, she explained how she stumbled on a "transgender support plan" that school officials were working on behind Littlejohn's back that included everything from preferred pronouns, overnight rooming situations for fieldtrips, switching to boys' restrooms, and other steps that they never called home to discuss.
"This is happening all over the nation," Littlejohn warned. "This same protocol is in place in many, many schools across districts everywhere... So this is a very systematic way that parents are being excluded from important decisions occurring with their children -- and, further, social transition is a medical intervention that schools are grossly unqualified to be taking these steps without parental involvement."
Her attorney, Vernadette Broyles, pointed out that there's a wave of lawsuits across the country from parents experiencing this same injustice. In places like Wisconsin, Maryland, Oregon, and California, she pointed out, moms and dads are starting to realize that "this is a national agenda... and they need to assert their rights with their school."
Joe Biden's radical Education secretary, Miguel Cardona, has been on the receiving end of a lot of angry letters from Republicans, who see the president's administration -- and woke districts across the country -- "withholding information from parents... at an alarming pace."
North Carolina's Rep. Virginia Foxx (R) and Senator Richard Burr (R) were furious that a 12-year-old girl attempted suicide after the school pushed her to embrace her new gender identity "without notifying the parents." "There's little to no accountability coming from this administration," Foxx and Burr wrote to Cardona earlier this year. "How many more children will be put in harm's way if school districts are not being held to account?"

A former Homeland Security official in the Trump administration who later turned into one of the former president’s critics has quit the Republican Party, saying the GOP can’t be saved.
Miles Taylor, who was the agency’s deputy chief of staff and then chief of staff from 2017 to 2019, wrote on Twitter:
I'm done. I no longer believe the Republican Party can be saved. The vitriolic rhetoric is inspiring violent radicals. I'm quitting the GOP. And I hope more do the same. 7:10 PM · May 17, 2022·Twitter Web App
Taylor also linked to an editorial he wrote for NBC News:
“In the wake of the mass shooting in Buffalo on Saturday, it’s become glaringly obvious that my party no longer represents conservative values but in fact poses a threat to them — and to America,” he wrote.
Taylor was referring to the white supremacist who shot and killed 10 at a Buffalo grocery store and specifically targeted Black people. The alleged shooter reportedly wrote a manifesto referencing “great replacement theory,” a conspiracy theory that claims Democrats are trying to replace white Americans with people of color. That theory has been shared in Republican circles, and embraced by figures such as Fox News host ― and self-confessed liar ― Tucker Carlson.
Miles Taylor, who was Homeland Security’s deputy chief of staff and then chief of staff from 2017 to 2019, also admitted to writing the 2018 “Anonymous” op-ed in The New York Times
saying there were people within the Trump administration who were working against the then-president. (Photo: Alex Brandon via Associated Press)
Taylor noted that a poll last year found nearly half of Republicans agreed with sentiments of the “great replacement theory.”
“The Republican Party — which branded a violent insurrection in the nation’s capital as ‘legitimate political discourse’ — is poisoning Americans’ minds and supplanting respectful disagreement with loaded-gun rhetoric,” he wrote.
Although good people remained in the party, Taylor urged them to quit, too, “until it is rehabilitated or a suitable alternative is created.”
Taylor’s time in the DHS involved Donald Trump’s infamous policy of separating migrant children from their families. Taylor later told Telemundo that he regretted not denouncing it at the time.
He publicly came out against Trump in 2020 and said he would vote for Joe Biden. He has also admitted to writing the 2018 “Anonymous” op-ed in The New York Times that claimed there were people within the Trump administration who were working against the then-president.

CP U.S. | WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 2022
A new study suggests that nearly one in four Gen Z adults believe Jesus was a man who sinned like everyone else rather than the incarnate Son of God of Christian orthodoxy.
Polling conducted for the American Bible Society (ABS) and its latest “State of the Bible 2022” report found that 38% of people ages 18-25 believe “Jesus Christ was human and committed sins, like other people.”
The result is roughly in line with Gen X (37%), millennials (35%) and baby boomers (35%), who also don’t seem to believe in the biblical doctrine of a sinless Christ.
Americans aged 77 and older believed Jesus sinned at statistically lower numbers (26%) as the group proved to be the “most likely to be Bible Users (58%) of any generation.”
The findings were detailed in Chapter 2 of the 2022 “State of the Bible” report released this month, featuring data compiled by ABS in collaboration with NORC at the University of Chicago.
A total of 2,598 U.S. adults were surveyed in January online or by phone in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The study has an error margin of ±2.51%.
The poll found that 18% of all ages who are biblically engaged believed Jesus was a sinner.
Researchers with ABS defined scriptural engagement as “consistent interaction with the Bible that shapes a person’s choices and transforms their relationships with God, self, and others.”
Among respondents considered part of the “Movable Middle” — those considered Bible friendly and Bible neutral — just over one-third said they believed Jesus had sinned during His life on Earth. Those categorized as “Bible Disengaged” made up the highest portion of respondents who said Jesus was a sinner at 43%.
John Plake, director of ministry intelligence at ABS and editor-in-chief of the “State of the Bible” series, told The Christian Post this kind of secular confusion about Christian theology is an opportunity to share with the world.
“I hear statistics [like these], and I’m less concerned about the national or generational assumptions about the dual nature of Jesus or pick your particular point of doctrine here,” Plake said. “I’m more concerned that we point people to the Word of God.
“We get them there, they’re going to find wisdom, they’re going to find hope for their struggles, and if we can help people connect deeply with the Bible, then the doctrinal challenges are going to work themselves out.”
He added that secular culture has raised crucial questions for the Church to answer about the deity of Christ and other doctrinal issues since the first century.
“Culture tries to bend doctrine to fit its own categories and its own structures, and it’s been this way since the book of Acts,” said Plake. “It’s not new to America. It’s not new to the 21st century.
“In some ways, every culture in the world is against Christ.”
The denial of the deity of Christ was most notably addressed at the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D. when the Nicene Creed was codified in response to the rise of Arianism, which claimed Jesus was merely human and not the “God-Man” of Scripture.
While data collected in the survey did not distinguish between Christian and non-Christian respondents, the findings did suggest that the vast majority were at least open to considering the claims of the Bible.
When it comes to curiosity about Jesus and/or the Bible, around 75% of Gen Zers said they were at least “a little curious, with 21% saying they were “very curious” and 31% saying they were “extremely curious.”
That curiosity spiked despite an unprecedented drop in Bible engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic, which Plake says is mainly linked to two groups.
“I think there’s a big group of people who have curiosity. They just don’t know where to get started,” he said. “The other group that’s kind of interesting is the most Bible-engaged Americans.
"For them, they know how to find what they’re looking for in the Bible, but where they’ve been challenged is how to live out a biblical faith through service to others and worship with others.”
Plake added much of the drop in Bible engagement has stemmed from social pressures linked to the pandemic.

Last week I addressed the historical 1619 Project, the first coming of the Black slaves to what would become the United States of America. Many results occurred from that introduction, one being that about 13% of the population of the United States is Black.
There has developed what is known as critical race theory (herein CRT). My goal here is to describe CRT and discuss how it fits with the national interest as we collectively move to the future of complex international relations.
Through Supreme Court decisions beginning in the 1950s and the federal Civil Rights Acts of the 1960s, and by state civil rights laws as well, legal equality between the races has been achieved. CRT theory holds that legal equality and a “colorblind” society are not enough. The absence of “intent” to discriminate is not enough. “Scholars argued that a focus on colorblindness and intentional discrimination obscured a broader view of systemic racial inequalities in labor, wealth, housing, health care and other material distributions.” (Daria Roithmayr, syllabus, Critical Race Theory, University of Southern California).
Thus, law is not the issue; it is socioeconomic structure. We are in the area of social psychology in a theoretical conceptualization of property as part of social interaction. CRT theorists see whiteness of the white person as a form of “property.” They say: “But more pernicious and long lasting than the victimization of people of color is the construction of whiteness as the ultimate property.” (Gloria Ladson-Billings and William F. Tate IV, “Toward a Critical Race Theory of Education,” Teachers College, Columbia University, Fall 1995).
White norms in dress, speech patterns, academic honors programs, and Advanced Placement classes, etc., are seen as attributes of white culture conceptualized as property, like college credits are personal property. Collectively, this is what is called “white privilege,” I think. To me, as real estate attorney and Realtor, it is confusing to be so abstract and theoretical as to call this property. We all know what real and personal property are, and this isn’t it.
To me, it is white culture as shared values and beliefs. These can be experienced by all in America with sufficient hard work and achievement, if there are structures of achievement available. It should be an individual, not a group, thing. (Gutfeld, Fox, May 19, 2022).
It is here where real differences in real and personal property make real differences in education and, therefore, differences in real structures of achievement. One of the most significant Supreme Court opinions in recent history regarding the Equal Protection Clause was San Antonio Independent School District v. Rodriguez (1973), majority opinion by Justice Lewis F. Powell Jr. It held that public education did not merit the “strict scrutiny” test because under our Constitution education was not a fundamental right. Thus, unequal educational districts could stand.
Students of the Black population (already suffering from dysfunctional single-parent homes) are high in school disciplinary expulsions, dropout rates, and low in standardized test scores. More equalized schools would, it seems, be in the national interest by increasing the structures of achievement for lower-income students of all races, by lessening areas of crime, discovering talented students, and preparing students for more financially and personally rewarding careers. Education can create an excitement in a career. Real and personal property can be part of the reward.
A thriving heterogeneous society melding the best of all the cultures, under the rule of law and democracy, is in the national interest as we move into the unknown future. In the competition to come, we must continue to be a society of hard work and achievement as individuals.
Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina recently wrote an opinion in The Washington Post (May 17) about rising from a family of a single Black mother in poverty to be a United States senator: “If we want to have hard conversations about what will improve outcomes for our nation’s poorest communities, I welcome those conversations because I believe that America is the solution — not the problem.” He stated: “The American Dream is one of hope and opportunity.” I believe CRT is inimical to the national interest.
